A & E Keenly’s Handywork was founded in 2013, by Brian Keenly…that’s me! I started my business and my company for several reasons. First and foremost, I wanted to provide the elite custom service that every potential client deserves. I wanted to provide high quality products and services at an affordable price. I had worked for other companies all my life. I wanted to run a business a way I thought it should be run, while doing what I loved. Many times quality and customer service takes a backseat to company profits…not here!! Making clients happy is our #1 goal! I am also a registered home improvement contractor, HIC# 111748, registered with the state attorney general’s office. Insured and bonded.
Being a nature lover at heart, I am always concerned about our environment, and where our planet is headed. So I am pleased and proud to say that the largest percentage of my wood product s has essentially come from…well…garbage!! Buying logs from local tree services means several things. First, the company does not have to pay a dumping fee to get rid of them, so we are supporting local business and economy. Second, the tree isn’t ending up in the landfill to begin with, an obvious benefit. Third, the tree does not become firewood. Lastly, the tree was coming down anyway; why not make something beautiful from it!? The remainder of my logs are purchased from local and regional loggers. We are again supporting local business and economy. Loggers work with foresters, who carefully coordinate selective harvests. Selective harvests provide a raw product that is renewable. This careful selection ensures optimum health to the forest or woodlot, while providing a naturally sustainable product and minimizing environmental impacts.
We take pride in all we support, including the good ole’ U.S. That’s why we do not import ANYTHING!!! We do not order, stock, carry, or deal with exotic lumber grown outside the U.S. No purple heart, teak, zebrawood, mahogany, etc. If it doesn’t grow here in the eastern United States, we do not have it. We never have and never will.
